The Coffee and Cups is a nice analogy in relation to Computer Applications as well. Your programs may be well written and effective too but if you present them to the user in a bad way (I would like stress here the importance of presentation. The look of the cups caught the eye of the user and influenced to go for the best among them) your projects are likely to get rejected without second thoughts.
